ORTHODONTIC TREATMENTS OFFERED

As your orthodontist, most people know that we provide a variety of different braces to adults and children. But there’s more to orthodontics than just brackets and wires. We offer several forms of treatments and therapies to enhance the health and function of smiles just like yours.

Early Intervention Treatments (Phase I Braces)
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child have an orthodontic evaluation by age 7. At this stage in a child’s development, it is possible to intervene with interceptive treatments that limit the need for more extensive therapies or surgery later on. While it’s easy to understand why a parent might be concerned about their child “getting braces twice,” phase I orthodontics reduce the overall length of treatment that your child may need.
Phase II Braces
For children who have undergone Phase I braces at a young age, Phase II treatments are usually recommended to “fine tune” their smile as necessary, after all the adult teeth have come in.
Comprehensive Orthodontics
This is what most teens or adults think of when considering braces. With comprehensive treatment, you correct the entire jaw and tooth alignment in one slightly longer timespan.
Clear Aligners/Invisalign
“Invisible” orthodontic aligners are crafted from clear plastic materials that fit over your teeth like a retainer or bleaching tray. When changed out every two weeks, they slowly and systematically move your teeth without the need for brackets and wires.
Tooth Colored Braces
White brackets allow you to enjoy subtle appliances that are not very noticeable, while still being able to address more complex bite needs.
“Hidden” Lingual Braces
Lingual braces use a bracket and wire system like traditional orthodontics, except they are bonded on the back of your teeth (making them invisible to everyone else.)
Damon Braces
Using a trap-door design, these self-ligating braces eliminate the need for ligatures or rubber bands to hold your orthodontic archwire in place. This reduces the tension on your teeth, helping you to feel more comfortable.
Growth Modification
In many situations, we can encourage changes in a child’s oral development so as to accommodate a healthy biting relationship. Perhaps the upper palate needs to be expanded or the lower jaw grow a bit longer. Through growth modification, we can take a non-invasive approach to correct problems early…instead of waiting until later when surgery is needed.
Orthodontic Evaluations and X-Rays
Before you start any type of orthodontic treatment, our orthodontist will need to fully evaluate and examine your teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures. As such, we will take a full-mouth X-ray to see how things are positioned and developing. Next, we will check to see how your bite comes together. Depending on what your needs and concerns are, we will work with you to create an individual treatment plan to address those issues.

“A lot has changed since I wore wore braces 15 years ago. After not wearing my retainer my teeth started to shift over time. I knew I need to see an orthodontist but now a mother of two, I put it on the back burner. The crowding got so bad one of my kids thought my tooth was going to fall out. That’s when I called Dr Aliu’s office and scheduled a consultation. To my surprise they were able to work with my schedule and I was seen the next day. I truly thought I was going to leave their office in tears but the exact opposite happened. Braces have changed since the big metal ones I had when I was younger. They thoroughly went over all the different braces options and with their help I was able to choose the right braces for me. I now have my Damon Clear Braces on and I am beyond excited to get my smile back! Thank you Dr. Aliu and Awesome Staff!”
